The foundation layer changed
For decades, the BIOS was the most critical layer of any computing system. It was the first code that ran when you powered on a machine — the foundation everything else depended on. Award Software built some of the most widely deployed BIOS firmware in the industry, powering millions of PCs worldwide through the 1990s.
Today, the foundation layer of business technology is no longer a chip on a motherboard. It's the IT infrastructure that keeps organizations running: managed services, cybersecurity, cloud architecture, and the people who maintain them. The stakes are just as high — a failure at this layer still means everything above it stops working.
What this directory does
Award BIOS is an editorial directory of IT service providers across North America. We catalog managed service providers, cybersecurity firms, cloud consultancies, and IT support companies so that businesses can find, compare, and evaluate potential partners based on real data — not just sales pitches.
Not Phoenix Technologies, not Award Software
The "Award BIOS" name was originally a PC firmware brand developed by Award Software International (acquired by Phoenix Technologies in 1998). The current site is NOT affiliated with Phoenix Technologies, Award Software, or any BIOS-firmware-related entity — we use the legacy brand name as an editorial wordmark for this contemporary IT-services directory. We do not provide BIOS firmware, support, troubleshooting, or any related services. For Award BIOS firmware support, contact your motherboard manufacturer or Phoenix Technologies.
What we track
- Service specialties — managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud, consulting, backup, compliance, VoIP, help desk, network infrastructure, and software development
- Certifications — SOC 2, ISO 27001, and other compliance credentials
- Client fit — whether a provider serves SMBs, enterprises, or both
- Location — searchable by state and city
Editorial integrity
Award BIOS is not affiliated with any IT vendor, MSP association, technology manufacturer, or BIOS-firmware entity (see disclosure above). Paid premium listings are clearly labeled as such; unpaid-tier rankings are editorial — listings are NOT ranked by payment in the editorial tier. Our editorial content — buyer's guides, evaluation frameworks, and industry analysis — is written for the business owner making the decision, not the vendor hoping to be chosen.
For IT service providers
If you operate a managed IT, cybersecurity, or cloud services company, you can submit your listing for inclusion in the directory. There is no cost to be listed. We verify all submissions before publishing.
